Award-winning sculptor Andrew Bjurman emigrated from Sweden in 1893 and settled in the Los Angeles area where he worked as a high school teacher. A self-taught artist, he is known for his portrait busts and sculptures, including this depiction of Abraham Lincoln created in his home studio in Alhambra, California. His sculptures were exhibited throughout Southern California.
